Basic Difference between Pearl Plaster, Fine Stone and VP Antico
This week Jim is showcasing the Artisan Enhancements™ collection of plasters – VP Antico, Fine Stone, and Pearl Plaster. Our plaster texture mediums are formulated to be easy-to-apply, layered, and manipulated. Artisan Enhancements™ plasters are ideal for embossed, relief, layered, stippled, and trowelled techniques.
In this basic introduction Jim highlights uses and compares each type of Artisan Enhancements™ plaster. Artisan Enhancements™ Textures & Plasters
VP Antico is a thick water-based plaster medium used to create smooth and textured Venetian plaster effects.
Highlights:
Create suede-like and impasto finishes
Can be burnished to create polished stone effects
Paintable and Tintable
Stenciling – textured patterns and relief
Uses:
Great for a variety of interior projects such as: furniture, walls, cabinetry, and decorative arts.
Fine Stone is a thick water-based plaster medium with added natural sand aggregate used to create textured plaster effects.
Highlights:
Achieve subtle stone textures – great for a farmhouse aesthetic
Can be layered with Scumble to accentuate the stone texture
Paintable and Tintable
Stenciling – textured patterns and relief
Uses:
Great for a variety of interior projects such as: furniture, walls, cabinetry, and decorative arts.
Pearl Plaster is a thick water-based plaster medium used to create opulent pearlescent plaster effects.
Highlights:
Create shimmery finishes reminiscent of a luxurious velvet
Can be used untinted to create glamorous and elegant statement pieces or feature walls
Tintable white base – perfect for developing custom light and pastel-colored pearly finishes
Stenciling – pearlized patterns and relief
Uses:
Great for a variety of interior projects such as: furniture, walls, cabinetry, and decorative arts.
