Scumble is one of our most versatile effect mediums. Two of the most frequently asked questions we get about Scumble are, “what is it and how do I use it?”

Scumble can be used as an extender or a tintable glaze medium!

We thought it would be fun to create a short series of quick how-to videos that highlight different ways to tint Scumble for various effects!

The sample boards have been painted with a matte chalk style paint in a creamy color. We added an applique to each board to showcase how glaze effects can accentuate details.

For each technique, we’re using a 3:1 mixture (3 parts Scumble + 1 part Tint Source).
