Rhonda J’s Design Emporium, Inspiring Fearless Creativity!
Driven by her passion for creating and inspiring others, Rhonda is a high-energy artist and business woman with natural talent and an eye for color and design. From creating custom faux finishes on walls and furniture for her clients, to painting unique mixed media art and canvas paintings and instructing a variety of paint finish workshops, Rhonda does it all! All this in addition to owning and operating three successful home design and decor shoppes in Southern Texas where she sells a variety of home decor, fashion, gift and art products including the entire line of Artisan Enhancements art finishes and tools! When asked where her energy comes from, without hesitation Rhonda explains that when you’re doing something that you love this much, you can pretty much do it 24 hours a day!
Rhonda is fearless when it comes to creating with color and texture. She often finds that people are afraid to try their hand at faux finishing, but according to Rhonda, anyone can do it! Rhonda says that hands-on training taught by experienced instructors is the key to gaining the confidence one needs to jump in and create! With 30 years combined experience, Rhonda and her staff are more than qualified to train customers in faux finishing and they offer fun, inspirational workshops at all three design shoppe locations. Artisan Enhancements products are perfect for experienced artists and beginners alike and Rhonda claims that they make it possible for herself and her customers to take their painting to a whole new level and create finishes they never thought possible!
Gravitating towards the Bohemian style, Rhonda appreciates the balance of color and texture in design. In her own whimsical, Boho Chic artwork, she often uses VP Antico and Crackle Tex to add texture and dimension to her canvases. Rhonda says that she loves Artisan Enhancements products for their ease of use, versatility, eco-friendly properties and easy clean-up!
In a recent home re-transformation project, Rhonda used several Artisan Enhancements products along with Chalk Paint to create beautiful new finishes on her clients existing dining furniture and walls!
When her clients asked her to give their worn, dark wood Duncan Phyfe dining table a distressed, shabby chic finish, Rhonda turned to Artisan Enhancements Crackle Tex and Old Ochre Chalk Paint to add texture, patina and a more relaxed feel to the once formal table.
The china cabinet was also given a heavily distressed shabby chic finish with Crackle Tex and Old Ochre. When customers come into the shoppes for faux finishing products or to take a workshop, Rhonda is sure to let them know that Crackle Tex does so much more than just crackle a paint finish! She loves to use them to create texture and finds the products to be so much more versatile than one might think!
On her clients dining wall which had been previously gold leafed, Rhonda created a gorgeous old world finish using Crackle Tex and VP Antico along with French Linen and Old Ochre Chalk Paint.
