Reviving the old! 🕯️ We found this ceramic candle holder at a second-hand store. We loved the shape but the finish needed a little makeover. Using our Fine Stone plaster and paints, we created a simple faux stone effect. Now the once-glossy finish is the perfect blend of texture and chic.

Here is part two of our tinted VP Antico relief stencil wall décor!

Pulling inspiration from embroidered beaded pillows, we wanted to add muted colors, a slight touch of metallics, and a very light dry-brushing effect.

To control the opacity of our dry-brush effect, we added a small amount of acrylic matte finish paint to our Matte Clear Finish. This allowed us to create a subtle faux linen effect and seal the foil accents all in one layer. The entire piece received one final coat of Matte Clear Finish (with no paint added) for protection.

Relief stenciling, also known as embossed or raised stenciling, is a great way to create textured wall decor!

In this two-part tutorial we’re highlighting VP Antico tinted with Nature’s Wood Stain to create a sculptural stenciled art piece. Our VP Antico (Venetian Plaster) can be used untinted straight from the container or tinted with a variety of pigment sources.

For this project, we`ll also be using paint overlay and distressing. When tinted and distressed, the contrast of the plaster relief becomes more subdued, resulting in a softer effect.
