DIY Stone Winter Cottages with Fine Stone
Holiday Villages and Christmas Cottages have been a popular décor trend this season! Need a quick refresh for your holiday table top décor? Try this super quick DIY 4-Step makeover with paint and Fine Stone to achieve a snow-covered effect.
Step 1: Paint the entire cottage in a soft neutral tone. We’re using a beautiful taupe color.
Step 2: While the paint is drying, create a custom tinted mixture of Fine Stone using the same color. We’re using a ratio of about 2 parts Fine Stone to one part paint. If you want more texture, just add a bit more Fine Stone to the mix.
Step 3: Once the painted cottage is dry, pounce the tinted Fine Stone across the cottage surface. The amount of Fine Stone applied can vary based on the thickness of the mixture and the look you are trying to achieve. The tinted Fine Stone will dry lighter than the paint below creating some dimension.
Step 4: After the Fine Stone dries you can leave the cottage unsealed or seal with Clear Topcoat Matte or Clear Finish Matte. So easy!
